Nick Fury Will Not Appear In The Upcoming Avengers Movies
This is hard to take, but, Samuel L Jackson recently confirmed that he will have no part to play in the upcoming Infinity War movies. The news is genuinely perplexing: Nick Fury was the reason for the Avengers. It was his brainchild in the first Iron-Man movie: to build a team of superheroes to defend the earth. Now, when the Avengers battle the biggest threat in the Universe, Nick Fury will still be in hiding.
Samuel L Jackson told this to Yahoo recently: “I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [‘Captain America: Civil War’], I’m not in ‘Avengers 3 and 4’. They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet. They wouldn’t let me go to ‘Black Panther’-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?!”
It seems even Jackson too is perplexed about the whole scenario. While Marvel Studio's head Kevin Feige has confirmed that Jackson will be in the Captain Marvel movie, Jackson hasn't heard anything from anyone yet. He was blunt in the interview about his dismay at not being a part of the Black Panther movie as well.
Captain Marvel, set in the 90s, will feature a younger Nick Fury. In the current storyline, Nick Fury is in hiding after bringing down the Hydra operation in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Fans were not happy when he went missing in Civil War, a story he could have contributed greatly to.
What exactly has Marvel planned for the character is a mystery. Maybe the plan is to feature him with the new superheroes who will lead the Avengers in unplanned phase 4. Still, in a movie with 67 characters, they can make space for one very important person.
