Remember Avatar? Yeah, the movie that captivated us in 2009 and then pretty much faded from memory. Yeah, it's coming back with FOUR sequels.

While the lead cast and crew are returning, one important dead character is back as well. Stephen Lang who played the Na'vi hunting Col. Miles Quaritch will be the bad-guy again. Last we saw him he took two arrows to the chest and we are pretty certain no one can survive from that. Unless the humans have some space age tech, which they do!

This is what Cameron said to Empire Magazine:

"The interesting conceit of the Avatar sequels is it’s pretty much the same characters. There are new characters and a lot of new settings and creatures, so I’m taking characters you know and putting them in unfamiliar places and moving them on this greater journey. But it’s not a whole bunch of new characters every time. There’s not a new villain every time, which is interesting. Same guy. Same motherfucker through all four movies. He is so good and he just gets better. I know Stephen Lang is gonna knock this out of the park."

Well, we are all worried about the repetitive plot. While Avatar was groundbreaking in many ways, but the plot felt familiar and predictable. With the sequels using a new glass-less 3D technology, Cameron has to balance his time between the story and getting the technology working for the big screens right. When it comes to tech, Cameron is surely a revolutionary.

Four movies still feel like a lot. But, nobody cared for Avatar till the first trailers arrived. When the movie released, it was an audience frenzy at the movie theatre. It still remains the highest grossing movie of all time. For all our scepticism, Cameron is still a pro and we are sure he will spark some enthusiasm in us when the movie arrives in 2020. Happy waiting!
